Understanding and Setting Price per Occupancy (PPO)
Defining PPO
When creating a new rate plan, you can establish a PPO based on your room type's maximum occupancy. This allows you to charge additional fees for guests exceeding the base occupancy.
On the above example we have established that our base occupancy is 2 adults and 0 children.
For each additional adult we will be charging an extra amount of 40 eur and for each additional child 20eur.
Setting Up PPO
Step 1: Access Rate Plan Settings: Navigate to SETUP > RATE PLANS
Step 2: Locate and Edit Rate Plan: Find the desired rate plan and click "Edit"
Step 3: Define Base Occupancy and Supplements: In the PPO section, specify your base occupancy and additional charges for adults and children
Step 4: Save Changes: Click "Apply" to confirm your settings
Key Considerations:
- Room Capacity: The maximum PPO amount is determined by the room type's maximum capacity
- Override Existing Settings: To update PPO settings for existing rate plans, activate the "Override" option
- Bulk Updates: You can modify PPO settings for multiple room types within a two-year period
- Default Values: If fields are left blank, the system assumes 0 for base occupancy or additional charges
NOTE: In case you are working on a derived rate plan, please make sure you access this area by moving this toggle to YES
Setting PPO on a Seasonal Level

Access Revenue Area: Navigate to the Revenue section.

Select Rate Plan and Channel: Choose the relevant rate plan and channel.

Select Room Type: Select the specific room type.

Access PPO Calendar: Click on "Price Per Occupancy Calendar."

Choose Dates: Select the desired dates for the PPO configuration.

Edit PPO Settings: Define new base amounts and additional charges for adults and children.

Apply Changes: Click "Apply" to confirm your settings.
Now a new area will show up on the left navigation panel, as shown here:
Here you will be able to define the new base amounts of occupancy and/or the additional charges you wish to apply for adults and/or children
Make sure you click ''APPLY'' to confirm the changes.
After doing the above updates if you wish to see more info on the calendar, just click on the “i” icon and you will be able to check “Base Adults” and “Base Children” amounts.
By following these steps, you can effectively implement PPO for your rate plans, ensuring accurate pricing and revenue optimization.
Notes:
1. When no default values are set: If any of the fields are not filled, the system will assume 0 for Base Adults/Children or 0€ for Extra Adult/Child;
2. When values already exist: If any of the fields are not filled, the system will assume the values previously set (manually on calendar or the default);
3. To set dates without PPO: We must fill with 0 on all fields.
