Turn Hesitation into Bookings with Travel Insurance

Revenue > Add-ons > Travel Protection > Select "Active"

GuestCentric application is ready to offer the Travel Protector Add-on directly within your booking flow. Keeping things simple for your hotel, this protection helps reduce booking hesitation while requiring zero operational management or intermediation from your staff.

What is the Travel Protector Add-on?

This feature is designed to give travelers the confidence to book without second-guessing. Whether heading to Europe or traveling within the U.S. outside their network, this protection reduces the financial risk behind every reservation by covering moments that create hesitation:

- Medical expenses: Up to $10,000 per person / $50,000 per booking
- Trip cancellation & interruption: Up to 100% of non-refundable trip costs
- Medical evacuation & repatriation: Up to $15,000 per person
- Trip delays: Reimbursement for essential hotels, meals, and transport
- Baggage loss or delay: Coverage for lost or delayed essential items

How it Affects Your Hotel & PMS

Because this insurance is handled entirely between the guest and the provider, guests interact directly with the travel insurance company, meaning there is zero operational hassle for the hotel.

PMS Synchronization: Since it does not affect daily operations, insurance details are not sent to your PMS.
Reservation Notes: Details are automatically added to the comments section of the reservation file strictly for your tracking and information.

How to Proceed with Cancellations & Claims

Canceling a Reservation: If a guest contacts you directly to cancel, the reservation must be canceled at the source within the GuestCentric backend to ensure availability syncs correctly, cancellation emails trigger, and automated pre/post-stay emails stop:

1. Log into the GuestCentric backend.
2. Go to the Reservations tab.
3. Open the relevant reservation file.
4. On the top toolbar, click Cancel.

Guest Claims: If guests inquire about claiming their policy, direct them to contact the travel insurance provider directly to file a claim, as the hotel does not manage policy payouts.

How to Deactivate Travel Insurance (Optional)

If you wish to turn off the travel insurance add-on for future bookings, follow these steps in your backend:

Revenue > Add-ons > Travel Protection > Uncheck the Active box

Notes:

- This feature is currently live for US bookers
- This e-card aims to help our customers understand and manage the setup process for the Travel Protector Add-on
- Our team and your hotel do not configure, manage, or process travel insurance claims or policies directly
- All claim handling remains between the guest and the provider.
